As a Sacramento web designer, I think it is important to show people some of the web design work that I have done. I put together this site to demonstrate a variety of web applications and design concepts that I have been working on lately. Many of these Sacramento web design projects include PHP and Javascript programs which you can find throughout the site and in my portfolio.

If you take a look at the titles throughout the site, you wouldn't guess that they were created using PHP. I simply use an image tag that points to a PHP script, pass a few variables and viola! What's great about this simple script is that I don't have to use Photoshop to make new graphics and I can use any font I like! Another trick this Sacramento web designer uses is a central file that generates the navigation on each page. By having one navigation file and including it in multiple pages I can update my Sacramento web design quickly and easily.

"Hey Josh, what's up with this funky new layout on your web site?" Well, I decided it was time to update the look. The old Sacramento web design was based on a "paste-up" or "paste-board" of the actual design. I have a fixation with print layout and typography and I thought it would be neat to design a web page that looked like a magazine page or something similar. But then I thought, "hey that's really un-original" so I made a Sacramento web design of the paste-up of a magazine or catalogue style page. The problem was that it was still kind of bland and hard to navigate. I thought the website needed some more pop so voila! New website design.

I also believe in cross platform compatibility and I think every Sacramento web designer should take the time to validate their markup. These Icons at the bottom of the page indicate that the page has valid markup according to the W3C.
